This performance is of Merle Haggard headlining the Legends in Bronze statue dedication concert with a 90 minute set of all of his hits. This high-definition concert was shot on May 25, 2005 in font of 7,000 fans outside of the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, Ca. The concert Legends in Bronze paid tribute to ten country music and rockabilly stars with a dedication ceremony of larger than life bronze statues cast by sculptor Bill Rainsat the expense of Buck Owens himself.

Merle Haggard is an American country music song writer, singer, guitarist, fiddler,and instrumentalist. Along with Buck Owens, Haggard and his band The Strangers helped create the Bakersfield sound. By the 1970s, Haggard was aligned with the growing outlaw country movement, and has continued to release successful albums through the 1990s and into the 2000s. In 1997, Merle Haggard was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame for his song “Okie from Muskogee”.
